Lena Hart moved to Loon Lake looking for a peaceful place to raise her son. If she decided to start dating again – because a boy needs a father, right? – she wanted to do it far away from all the places that held such sweet memories of her dead husband.
Before she can finish unpacking, her peaceful life is turned upside down. A bedraggled stray dog captures the heart of her five-year-old son, the boy insisting God sent him the dog in answer to his prayers. But the disturbingly attractive local dogcatcher can’t be part of the grand plan – can he?
