Seeking to explore the world and experience fresh and exciting parts of the world, Andrew and Tavie Morgan, teachers and conspiracy theory aficionados from England, travel to live and work in Shunde, China. Settling into a secure apartment complex, life seems idyllic and secure, until one morning Andrew is shocked to hear his wife screaming. Tavie believes someone has broken into their flat in the middle of the night. And it is not the first time.
Neither the police nor their strangely uncommunicative neighbours do anything to help, so the couple resolve to catch the intruders themselves.
But, as night falls, and the lights go out, unimaginable terror lurks in the dark.
