Portal to the Forgotten: A time travel story
by John J. Gschwend Jr.
The Ancients knew of a portal to another dimension. For thousands of years it has been lost. Now I fear it has been rediscovered.
Shy country constable, Luke Morgan, has jurisdiction in the backwoods of the Ozark Mountains. Elected as a joke, he's unqualified to be a law officer. However, when his cousin, Tyler, is implicated in the shocking disappearance of his own girlfriend, Luke must become a real lawman.
Accompanied by a persistent but beautiful reporter, Luke goes up on the mountain to investigate the unusual disappearance where the girl reportedly disappeared into thin air. There in that remote wilderness he discovers the reporter is not what she appears to be, and earth’s natural realm is altogether different than mankind believes. As his simple world is suddenly turned upside-down, does Luke run from the mountain or do his duty and charge into the swirling unknown?
