In Search Of Amy

In Search of Amy is a pull at your heart strings story of a young woman finding herself. Amy takes you with her on a journey of rebuilding, reigniting, restoring and recovering parts of her life that were buried away due to childhood trauma and the stress of life. To do this, she begins to research her maternal family's past, a past that her family neither knew about nor talked about. While researching her maternal great-grandmother's family, she uncovers more than she could have ever imagined. Initially, she is pleasantly surprised with her findings, that is, until she hits that infamous "brick wall" that many African Americans hit while searching their ancestral past. Eager to find out more and not one to easily give up, she decides to take a DNA test. Unbeknownst to her, life as she had known it, would be changed with that little tube of saliva. Her DNA results bring her face to face with some very hard truths. She in turn has to decide whether to continue to live in the old untruths that felt like bondage most of her life, or accept her findings and live in a freedom that held no regrets.
