Dreadful Tales

The results and conclusions of 15 years work are presented here, detailing the research, restoration and preservation of thousands of items found on the wreck of the Honourable East Indian Company ship Griffin. The ship, which sank in the Sulu Sea in 1761, not only carried porcelain, silks and tea but was part of a secret mission to discover new sea routes for the expansion of the East India Company. Colour photographs show in detail the mastery of the chinese porcelain manufacturers and their master artists.
